Since the Environment Agency have said: “The landowner remains the person responsible in ensuring that no pollution is caused by the site,” can Cllr Keith Witham, GBC, SCC and the Environment Agency tell me who the landowner of the site that is leaking this orange gunk is?

I believe it’s an illegal dump from the 1970s which does not belong to my father Robin Hill.

I would like to know when actions against these other landowners to make them test for safety and clear up their mess.

If Daniel Hill knows where this alleged 1970s dump site is, an inexpensive enquiry on the Land Registry website will almost certainly reveal the identity of the landowner.

Perhaps rather than engaging in diversion tactics, he and his father might be better employed in clearing the waste from their own land.

It’s most likely the natural iron deposits found in streams on sandy soil. Quite common for the leaf debris and water to take on an orange colour.
