A spokesperson from the Lions club said; “Without the generous support of Chapters Financial, and Bessler Hendrie, and the people of Guildford we wouldn’t have been able to give this worthy cause such an enormous sum of money.

Besides the Lions’ special Weathering Winter Together campaign, the Lions also budget some £450 a month for support to the North Guildford Food Bank.

The North Guildford Food Bank is based at St Clare’s in Park Barn. Working alongside local agencies and churches, it provides help for individuals and families in the Guildford area who are in need.

It receives non-perishable food from local churches, supermarkets, schools and businesses to make up food parcels. Various agencies such as Citizens Advice, social services, Guildford Borough Council, and so on, refer people experiencing financial difficulties to the foodbank.
