Eric James from Guildford Lions said: “I am delighted to confirm the evening has again been a major success and that we have achieved a profit of £44,000, which, given the awful weather conditions and increased costs we experienced, is a tremendous result.
“This year our nominated charity was Guildford-based Oakleaf Enterprise and I am happy to confirm the club has agreed an immediate donation of £10,000 to fund 240 one-to-one counselling sessions. For more information on this service click here
“Our event is now recognised as a major festival and we are delighted to be featured as the number two fireworks event in the Radio Times guide to UK displays – quite an honour!
“This is very much a team effort and we would like to thank you for your support in helping us stage such a great event and achieve such a wonderful profit that allows us to continue our community support going forward.”
