Tickets on Sale for Home-Start Guildford’s Fundraising Ball

Home-Start Guildford, that gives vital support to families in need, announces its Together Ball, to raise funds to give children the best possible start in life.

It takes place at G Live in Guildford on Friday, February 2, and will feature a sparkling reception, a three-course dinner, auction and raffle and live entertainment.

Home-Start Guildford is part of one of the UK’s leading family support charities that has 180 schemes in the UK and more than 16,000 volunteers who visit families with at least one child under five in their own homes.

Established in 1997, Home-Start Guildford is based in Burpham. Its manager leads a team of six staff (one full-time and five part-time).

It runs two family groups. One operates at Pirbright Army Base on Tuesday mornings to support service families and the other is held at the Guildford Family Centre on Hazel Avenue, Bellfields on Thursday mornings.

Both run during term time with some special events offered during the school holidays.

The Pirbright Family Group has been running successfully since 2007 and the Hazel Avenue Group since April 2021.

Home-Start board trustee Sabine Bates said: “We are so thrilled to have launched our inaugural Together Ball and hope that this will become our flagship fundraising event.

“The money raised will enable us to continue to provide life-changing (and in some cases, life-saving) support to vulnerable families. This money is more important than ever as the demand for our support increases, particularly from families whose challenges are compounded by the cost of living crisis.

“For such an important event we are pulling out all the stops to give our guests an experience they will never forget, and I hope they will be inspired to give generously.”
