Make a Splash by Taking Part in the Lions Raft Race or Sponsoring a Dashing Duck

Join the Guildford Lions, Surrey Care Trust and Zero Carbon Guildford 0n Saturday, July 1, for an afternoon of fun in the annual raft race and duck dash!

Events start at Millmead Island in Guildford at noon with the launching of hundreds of little yellow ducks down the River Wey to see which will be the first across the finish line.

There’s still time to enter Guildford’s annual raft race on Saturday, July 1.

At 3pm, the Guildford Lions will launch its legendary raft race where companies and groups will ‘sail’ their homemade rafts down the river.

The Lions say: “You can play your part by sponsoring your own duck – or duck family, all for £2 each, by taking part in the raft race – or both!

“Then join us for the afternoon by the river to see all the action and see who wins a prize – including entry for two to Bocketts Farm Park, admission tickets for two to Luna Outdoor Cinemas, and more.”

All proceeds raised will support the work of both the Lions and Surrey Care Trust, helping vulnerable people in Surrey to reach their potential and improve their lives, as well as Zero Carbon Guildford who help local citizens and businesses reduce their impact on the planet.

Like last year, Zero Carbon Guildford will be offering a £100 voucher for the most sustainable raft.
