Man Arrested On Suspicion of Inciting a Child to Engage in Sexual Activity

A 23-year-old man in the Ash area was arrested by Surrey police officers officers from the Child Sexual Exploitation team, based in Guildford, this morning (Jun 21), on suspicion of inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity .

The man is currently in custody while the investigation continues.

A police statement said: “Surrey Police takes the protection and safeguarding of children and the vulnerable extremely seriously and we are actively targeting those who prey on young and vulnerable victims.

“The force has specialist officers and units dedicated to investigating child sexual exploitation. If you are being exploited for sexual purposes or suspect someone you know is being groomed online then please report it to Surrey Police on 101 or you can use the online reporting system found at https://report.police.uk/ and we will do everything possible to stop the abuse and bring offenders to justice.”
