A man has been identified following a CCTV appeal by Surrey Police. The appeal was made following a report of voyeurism at Spectrum Leisure Centre in Guildford.

A police spokesperson said: “Further to our appeal yesterday (December 16), we believe we have now identified the man in the CCTV footage.

“We are grateful for the media and public’s help in circulating the appeal.”

The incident being investigated occurred on Monday, May 20, at about 6.15pm, when a 15-year-old girl saw a mobile phone being held under a cubicle door in the women’s toilets in their changing-rooms on the bottom floor of the centre.

Previous attempts to identify the man in the CCTV images had been unsuccessful.

Investigating officer, PC Joanne Young, said: “We want to reassure people that we, and the staff at the centre, are taking this extremely seriously. We are following all available lines of enquiry and staff at the Spectrum are supporting us fully in our investigation.”
