Surrey Police officers were called to Bowers Farm Drive in Burpham shortly before 8pm yesterday (May 12) following reports of a serious assault.
Members of the public reported that a man, believed to be in his twenties, had been assaulted in the road and had suffered serious head injuries.
Police and other emergency services quickly attended the location and the injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital. He currently in a serious but stable condition.
Officers have cordoned off the road and are carrying out an extensive search of the surrounding area as part of ongoing enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding how the man sustained his injuries.
