The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Sallie Barker MBE, has announced Guildford’s first Diversity Show. The show is intended to bring together communities from all walks of life and cultures to showcase their unique traditions and talents.
It will take place on April 5 at Holy Trinity Church in Guildford and will support one of the GBC’s key priorities of building a more inclusive borough. The show aims to promote unity and develop understanding across communities whatever their background.
Attendees can look forward to a lineup of performances showcasing traditional dances and musical acts from the many cultures represented in Guildford.
The Mayor of Guildford, Cllr Sallie Barker MBE said: “I’m proud to host the Diversity Show this year, as it serves as a reminder of the strength and beauty that diversity brings to our community.
“This event is a celebration of our differences and shows the inclusive spirit within our town. This show reinforces the sentiments behind the Guildford Declaration of Freedom of Religion and Belief signed last month by local civic, religious and community leaders.

“I encourage residents and visitors to Guildford to join in this unique celebration of diversity in Guildford.”
The Diversity Show will be raising funds for Big Leaf Foundation, a charity helping displaced young people belong and grow. Some of the young people supported by the charity will also perform at the show, which, organisers say, promises to be a spectacular display of music, dance, and singing from around the world.
The show will take place on Saturday April 5 between 7 and 9.30pm at Holy Trinity Church in the High Street. Tickets can be purchased online and cost £15 per adult, £10 for students and £7 for children.
The presidents of the three clubs supporting this event, said in a joint statement: “The Rotary Clubs of Guildford Wey & Chantries and Guildford Inner Wheel are delighted to support the Mayor of Guilford in hosting the event, which celebrates the diversity and talent of individuals of all abilities in the Guildford area in aid of the Big Leaf Foundation. We look forward to an inspiring and memorable show!”
