The Mayor of Guildford recently attended a charity day hosted by the Guildford Model Engineering Society (GMES), showing support for the club’s work and its fundraising efforts.
Held at the GMES site at Stoke Park, the event welcomed families and railway enthusiasts to enjoy miniature train rides and explore the society’s facilities. The charity day was part of the club’s regular public running events, with proceeds supporting local causes.
The Mayor joined volunteers and visitors for the afternoon, taking time to meet members and learn more about the society’s engineering work and its value to the local community.
The Guildford Model Engineering Society has long been a fixture of local life, offering hobbyists a place to share knowledge and run their model locomotives. The society is run entirely by volunteers and opens to the public several times a year.
