Report by Bob McShee
A variety of military vehicles were on display at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge on Sunday, November 18.
Some of the vehicles tackled its famous Test Hill, while others could be seen at the off-road circuit in Mercedes-Benz World.
It was a fine day and the event was well attended.
Re-enactors representing various armies all stood still at 10.59am as an air-raid siren sounded. The Last Post was sounded before a minute’s silence, followed by the Kohima Epitaph being read out.
Looking ahead, from December 3 to 7, there is free entry if you show a current or old National Lottery ticket or Scratch Card.
Brooklands Museum is one of 400 participating National Lottery-funded visitor attractions across the UK in saying ‘thanks’ to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.
New Year’s Day will feature the Classic Gathering of pre 1989 vehicles.
Check the Brooklands Museum website fore details of all forthcoming events.
