Ferry Lane, St Catherine’s. The lane passes over the Portsmouth railway line and continues to the River Wey towpath and St Catherine’s foot bridge.

A unexplained incident occurred at the bottom of Ferry Lane, St Catherine’s on Wednesday which led to a police officer sustaining an injury. Other emergency services were also involved.
A police spokesperson said: “While responding to a concern for safety at around 8pm on Wednesday, 13 August, one of our officers sustained an injury that required medical assistance. They were taken to hospital and received treatment before being discharged the following morning (14 August).
And a spokesperson from the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service added: “We were called at around 8:02pm on Wednesday 13 August to assist with an incident on Ferry Lane, Guildford.
“One fire engine was sent to the scene, where we supported the police and ambulance service with a patient.
“We left the scene at 8:44pm.”
One local resident said that they had seen a woman being handcuffed earlier, in the late afternoon, and a canoeist, who lives nearby, told The Dragon police officers were still on the bridge a little before 8pm.
