West Horsley Place will serve as the filming location for an as yet unidentified BBC production in early March, with exclusive on-set tours to be made available to the public.
The production team has refused to comment on the details of the film but has confirmed that shooting will take place on the estate over a four-week period.
The Trust has announced that, over the four weeks, winners of a public prize draw will attend one of five tours running each weekend, providing an exclusive sneak peek into the ins and outs of production.
Guests will receive special tour arrangements including guides and backstops. To prevent disclosure, they will be required to sign non-disclosure agreements prior to entering the set, and the use of cameras or mobile phones will be prohibited.
The production company have also contacted several residents in the local area to request permission to use their homes as additional shooting locations.
On a resident group chat, one occupant said: “We were told there would be two – three days setting up, three days of shooting and another three days to take it down. All insured etc. He wouldn’t tell me what it was other than its a film. Wouldn’t tell me any actors either. (boooo).”
West Horsley Place has previously been used as filming locations for various major productions – including BBC sitcom “Ghosts” (2017-2021), Netflix’s “Enola Holmes” (2020), “My Cousin Rachel” (2017), and “The Crown”.
Some “Ghost” fans have speculated suspect that this production will be a new “Ghosts” film, though the BBC have not confirmed any details.
