Mathnasium, the maths only learning centre with more than 1,200 locations worldwide, has opened a new centre in Guildford, bringing its personalised approach to maths education to local families.
Located opposite G Live at 4 London Road, Mathnasium of Guildford provides tailored maths instruction for children aged 4 to 16. The centre supports students of all abilities, from those who need help building confidence and closing knowledge gaps to those seeking additional challenge and enrichment.
Unlike traditional tutoring models, every child begins with a comprehensive assessment that identifies their current understanding, strengths and areas for development. This information is used to create a personalised learning plan designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of maths and improve long term confidence.
The opening reflects growing demand from families seeking targeted educational support that complements classroom learning while helping children develop stronger problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Sharon Mc Veigh, Centre Director of Mathnasium of Guildford, said: “Many children struggle with maths not because they lack ability, but because they haven’t yet found an approach that makes sense to them. Our role is to identify where understanding has broken down and rebuild confidence step by step.
“It is incredibly rewarding to see children begin to enjoy maths and recognise what they are capable of achieving.”

Mathnasium’s proprietary teaching approach, known as the Mathnasium MethodTM, has been developed through more than four decades of educational research and practical experience. The programme focuses on building strong mathematical foundations while helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed both in school and beyond.
The Guildford centre offers flexible learning programmes delivered by trained instructors in a supportive and engaging environment. Families can also book a free assessment to gain a clearer understanding of their child’s current maths abilities and learning needs.
As part of the local community, the centre aims to work closely with families and schools to support children in developing confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards maths.
