New On-line Directory for Community Help and Support Throughout Surrey

A new online Surrey-wide directory has been launched to help residents – and professionals who support them – find local sources of help in their community.

Connect to Support Surrey is a one-stop shop for information on adult care and support, enabling people to find help local to them.

The website is hosted by Surrey County Council and has been designed with support from health professionals, community organisations and the public.

It features thousands of entries from charities, community groups and public care providers, including: ways to stay independent, transport options, support for people looking after a loved one, help to stay active or feel less isolated, food deliveries, and at home and residential care.

Once people have searched the directory and found what they’re looking for, a list of the results can be created and printed.

The online directory is constantly refreshed, but to help keep it up to date anyone can suggest changes or ask for services to be added.

It can be found using the link above, or clicking on the image above or by searching for ‘Connect to Support Surrey’.

Residents are urged to bookmark it so they can have it to hand when needed.

Sinead Mooney, cabinet member for adult social care at Surrey County Council, and who manage the site, said: “With Connect to Support we can help residents get the information they need to maintain their wellbeing and find out about help that’s available on their doorstep.

“A single-source directory allows people to find up to date sources of local support across a whole range of topics without having to wonder where they can start their search.”
