A fire ripped through a large house in Normandy on Thursday evening (February 20).

One eye-witness  who posted on social media said: “The whole house was a raging inferno.”

The house is at the corner of Westwood Lane and Guildford Road, opposite St Mark’s Church.

The fire was reported by a motorist just before 8pm.

Fire extinguished but damage is obvious.

A statement from Surrey Fire & Rescue said: “We received a call around 7.45pm. We sent six fire engines in total, alongside a water carrier and aerial appliance.

“A fire had broken out at a domestic property, causing approximately 21 to 50 square metres of damage. The fire was tackled and crews left the scene around 1.35am.”

No one is believed to have been injured
