Have your say about Surrey County Council’s plans for Newlands Corner at a public meeting taking place at Holy Trinity Church in Guildford High Street at 7.30pm on Wednesday, March 9.
At the meeting the county council will highlight the £400,000 improvements it wishes to make:
Phase I being: improving toilets, re-surfacing the all-ability trail, installing bespoke play pieces made from timber, which will be sourced locally where possible.
Phase II will include: ways of improving the visitor centre and café facilities.
Details can be found on SCC’s website.
Car parking charges will also be introduced and these, and the plans, have been met with a wave of protests. A petition has been raised by the Save Newlands Corner campaign group. It has been reported that it has been signed by 10,000 people.
