Notice: Brand New After-dark Illuminated Trail At Polesden Lacey

Deep in the Surrey Hills, the Edwardian gardens at the National Trust’s Polesden Lacey form the perfect setting for this new, after-dark experience.

This country retreat, only four miles from Dorking, has glorious views across the rolling Surrey Hills and acres of countryside to explore. It was home to the famous Edwardian hostess Margaret Greville, who entertained royalty and the celebrities of her time. The gardens offer something for every season, including a winter garden bursting with snowdrops and yellow aconites.

As twilight falls, the magic begins. Expect the unexpected with fairies dancing in the trees, fiery fish, and woodland wildlife sculpted in willow, as you stroll through the walled garden and into an enchanting landscape filled with wonder.

Lit by lanterns, wander between flickering flames and majestic trees – from one amazing space to another.

Within this fiery interpretation of stars and spheres, illuminated flora and fantasy, there are moments of reflection and playful discovery set to a soundscape that will inspire and intrigue.

The trail has been specially designed for visitors of all ages to enjoy. The great outdoors made magical.

Katherine Mills, National Trust General Manager for Polesden Lacey said: “We’re so glad to welcome visitors to Polesden Lacey for this enchanting event. It is the first time we’ve hosted something like this at Polesden Lacey and we can’t wait to see the gardens illuminated in such a magical way.”

You can book your tickets safe in the knowledge that if Covid-19 Government legislation requires cancellation, you can re-book your slot or get a refund. COVID-19 guidelines are being followed and processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.
