The Guildford & Woking Branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild welcomes new members.
It is a cake decorating club and offers a mix of programme of demonstrations, hands-on evenings and Saturday workshops covering as wide a range of topics as possible so that there’s something for everyone.
Topics include sugar flower making, modelling in a broad range of edible mediums such as chocolate, marzipan and sugarpaste, airbrushing, wafer paper and using royal icing.
It meets on the second Wednesday of every month at Normandy Village Hall. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start, and there is tea, coffee and biscuits after the evening’s demonstration or hands-on session.
They say they are a friendly group and always welcome visitors who would like to find out more about what they do, whether you are a complete novice or a professional in the field. Annual membership fees apply.
Contact the branch secretary Sue Stevens at sjstevens85@sky.com for more information, and you can find the guild on Facebook @BSGguildford.

The Guildford/Woking BSG is a really friendly bunch of people and provide excellent demos, sometimes on Zoom too.
I am an improver; there is always more to learn and have a laugh while we do.
If you have any desire to start cake decorating or to improve your skills, do get in touch with Sue.
You can always try before you buy.
