Your Invitation to Fairlands WI Fashion Shopping Evening

Fairlands Women’s Institute says:

People have a stereotypical view of what the WI is, such as knitting, crocheting, and needlecraft.

Mention WI and it conjures up tea and nice home-baked cakes.

Yes, the WI does some of these things, and very well, but the WI has changed with the times.

There are WIs that go rock climbing and canoeing and do all sorts of activities.

In June, WI members from across England and Wales joined more than 9,000 people in Westminster for the biggest–ever lobby of Parliament on climate change.

It was an opportunity to speak up about all the things we love that are threatened by climate change, as well as to demonstrate public demand for strong UK action and leadership.

The lobby had a clear message: our politicians must act now. So the WI is not just jam making!

Here at Fairlands we are seeking new members. Whether you are new to the area or not we would love to see you at our Shopping Evening.

Do come along and see us. We want to grow, so ladies of all ages are needed and if you are not able to come that evening  give Jenny Page a call on 01483 538426.

The programme for next year is completely free at the moment.

So if you want to have an evening out where you can meet up with the girls, join in and think about some activities that you would like to do, then join us.

You never know even sky diving if you are up for it!

We are also after a secretary and a treasurer. Could this be you?
