Notice: Free Training for Helpline Volunteers

Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care is recruiting for helpline volunteers, with free training offered.

Its helpline receives calls from Surrey residents struggling with or affected by substance misuse or mental health.

The training date are: April 20, 9.30am to 11.30am; April 27, 9.30am to 11.30am and 12.30pm to 2.30pm, plus an hour with a co-ordinator for logging in and document training.

Meet face to face with volunteers and its trustees on June 1 in Guildford or on Zoom.

The expectation to take one shift a week ideally for three hours on the telephone.

Trustees are also required and need to be able to commit to a minimum of two hours per four to six weeks for board meetings and leadership meetings. There are also various opportunities to take forward SDAC’s mission. Call 0808 802 5000.
