Godalming-based contemporary abstract artist Flora Bell presents her first solo exhibition, ‘Resonance’, at the Godalming Museum Art Gallery from 24 March to 18 April 2026.
The exhibition brings together a body of abstract paintings exploring themes of emotional change, renewal and harmony through colour, movement and layered form.
Former environmental consultant, Flora Bell later developed a dedicated artistic practice. Her work reflects a long-standing fascination with natural systems, balance and transformation.
Bell creates abstract compositions by guiding the movement of paint across the canvas, allowing colour and form to interact through both deliberate control and organic flow.
The resulting works often evoke elements of landscape, water, light and atmosphere without depicting them directly, inviting viewers to form their own emotional and visual connections.
The exhibition includes a four-part series titled ‘Seasons of Becoming’, exploring stages of personal change and inner growth:
Winter – beginning
Autumn – grounding
Spring – confidence
Summer – rising
Together, these works offer a quiet visual journey of transformation and renewal.
