Notice: Hit The Beach This August For The Return Of Guildford-on-Sea

Published on: 21 Jul, 2019

Enjoy all the fun of the seaside this August as Guildford-on-Sea returns to the banks of the River Wey.

Located next to the Electric Theatre in Onslow Street, Guildford’s urban beach is free to enter and open daily from Thursday to Saturday, August 8 to 10, between 10am and 6pm.

Organised by Experience Guildford, with support from the Electric Theatre and Guildford’s Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), it’s billed as the ideal place to have fun with the children after a busy day at the shops, with bucketfuls of sand, deck chairs, balloon giveaways, beach huts, free face painting and candyfloss.

Plus, for the second year, Guildford-on-Sea Sundown Sessions also breeze back to the beach from 7pm to 10pm on Thursday and Friday, August 8 and 9.

Promising relaxed summer vibes and targeted at an older audience (over 18s only), the Sundown Sessions aim to be the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset beside the River Wey with a drink in your hand and the sand between your toes.

Highlights include DJs, ping pong tables, beach volleyball (including a charity tournament for local businesses to get behind on Thursday, August 8), Giant Jenga and Connect Four, along with food from Lord Falafel and drinks courtesy of the Electric Theatre bar.

For more information and the activities planned over the three days visit www.experienceguildford.co.uk or Facebook.com/ExperienceGford.
