With Christmas only a month or so away, why not buy an original price of artwork as a unique and thoughtful present and support the Prostate Project charity at the same time.

The online fundraising art auction of more than 85 pieces of original artwork from more than 40 Surrey based artists runs until December 5.

There is something for everyone in the auction which is raising money to fund groundbreaking prostate cancer research at the University of Surrey.

Some of the works in The Prostate Project auction.

Prostate cancer has become the biggest cancer killer of men. If caught early, cure rates are excellent. However, for those men whose cancer has spread, there is sadly no current cure.

One of the researchers at the University of Surrey, Dr Nicola Annels, said: “I am all too aware of the amazing difference this support makes to our research. It allows us to achieve our ultimate goal of giving men a better chance of beating prostate cancer.”

One of the more than 85 pieces up for auction, Poppies on the Hill by Surrey artist, Becca Clegg.

Surrey based artist Becca Clegg said: “By donating my paintings to the auction I hope that valuable funds can be raised to support the brilliant work that this charity is doing.”

Another Surrey based artist, Verity Walsgrove added: ”The Prostate Project is a cause close to me as I have known several sufferers of prostate cancer.”

To place a bid, visit the auction website by clicking here. All proceeds will go directly to the Prostate Project.

Also in the auction, Flame Fronds by Surrey artist, Verity Walsgrove.
