White Lion Walk Searches For Surrey’s Christmas Star

White Lion Walk shopping mall in Guildford is asking local people to come forward with stories about the ‘angels’ in the area that deserve to be named as Surrey’s Christmas Star.

Perhaps there is someone who has spent years putting others first, or a young person who has made a positive impact in the county, or maybe someone wants to say ‘thank you’ to a friend or family member for helping them through a difficult time.

Whatever the reason, the community-focused shopping centre would like to hear about it to recognise and reward the unsung hero.

Steve Cotney, Centre Manager of White Lion Walk, commented: “At White Lion Walk we are proud to be able to support our local community and reward our loyal shoppers in a number of ways. From putting on free family events throughout the year, helping local businesses such as Guildford Fringe Festival raise awareness with their pop-up box office, offering space for charities to collect vital funds on the mall, and even sponsoring the fireworks display at Guildford’s Christmas light switch on event, this is just an extension to what we offer the community.

“Our Christmas Star call out is a great opportunity to reward those unsung heroes in our community that have worked tirelessly putting others first. If you know someone that deserves the Christmas Star title, please get in contact and tell us about them and what they do that makes a difference.”

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Sunday, December 10, 2017. All entries should include both the nominator and nominee’s names and contact telephone numbers.

The winner will be presented with a number of prizes from shops in White Lion Walk and will be required to attend a presentation at the Guildford-based shopping centre, along with the person who nominated them.
