Silverbirch House care home in Worplesdon is opening its doors to the local community for an afternoon of refreshments, canapes and Prosecco on Saturday, October 25.
Taking place between 10am and 4pm, the event will enable guests to enjoy home-made cakes prepared by the home’s head chef along with canapes and refreshments, and they will have the chance to meet the team and take a tour of the home.
Louise Jones, general manger at Silverbirch House, said: “I’m excited about welcoming new visitors and existing friends of the home to our open day.
“Looking for care can be a little bit daunting, but our team here at Silverbirch will do all we can to provide all of our guests with the guidance and support they may need, and answer all of their questions, big or small. Our open day is a great chance to enjoy some delightful entertainment in a homely and friendly setting. I hope to see you all there.”

Also, Silverbirch House resident Audrey is a massive Spurs football club fan and loves her beloved team.
Audrey declined attending a match but was delighted when she was presented with a match programme and gifts.
Audrey has lived at Silverbirch House since the beginning of the year and is beloved by staff and residents alike.

Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making her dream come true, as they knew how much it meant to her, and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Audrey’s face when she was presented with her gift.
Audrey said: “I was on the verge of tears. It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about me and presented me with a match programme – and I didn’t even ask.”
Louise Jones added: “We believe that every moment is worth cherishing. We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here.
“It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team here in making our residents’ dreams come true. It was wonderful to see how happy Audrey was – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.”
Silverbirch House care home is off the A322 Worplesdon Road at 19 Tovey Green, Worplesdon, Guildford GU3 3FF. It is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers. Silverbirch House provides residential care and dementia care for 65 residents from respite care to long term stays.
