Guildford High Street is about to welcome a new arrival. Pasta Evangelists is bringing its first-ever restaurant outside of London to the town centre this July.
Best known for its artisan pasta meal kits and appearances on Dragon’s Den, Pasta Evangelists has earned a loyal national following for its restaurant-quality dishes delivered straight to customers’ homes.
Now, the brand is stepping into bricks-and-mortar with a full-service restaurant, cookery school, and takeaway offering, all under one beautifully designed roof at 38 High Street, Guildford.
The new restaurant promises to transport diners to Italy with a menu full, they say, of “authentic, creative and indulgent pasta dishes”. Highlights include Truffle Cacio e Pepe, Pistachio Cashew and Chilli Pesto, and the signature Beef and Chianti Ragu. There’s also a luxurious lobster, crab and prawn ravioli, plus oven-baked al forno options and rotating specials.
With an almost unlimited mix of fresh pasta shapes and sauces—many rarely seen outside Italy—diners can look forward to a truly unique Italian experience. Antipasti like creamy burrata and charcuterie boards join an all-day menu complemented by espresso martinis, Aperol spritzes, and the brand’s famously rich tiramisu.
A Taste of Italy—and a Chance to Learn
In a first for Pasta Evangelists, the Guildford restaurant will also feature a Pasta Academy, hosting weekly hands-on pasta making classes. Taught by expert chefs and inspired by founder Alessandro Savelli’s Italian grandmother, the Academy is already rated as the UK’s number one cookery school on TripAdvisor.
Classes will run throughout the week, including a bottomless prosecco pasta-making experience starting from £68. It’s an ideal setting for birthdays, team socials or anyone curious to master the art of pasta fatto a mano.
Dining In, Learning, or Ordering Out
Co-founder and CMO Finn Lagun says the team is excited to bring their largest and most ambitious site yet to Guildford.
“Guildford knows good food,” he says. “Opening one of our largest restaurants here is a big move. For years, Guildford has been a popular area for our pasta meal kits, so we’re thrilled to now welcome customers to dine with us in person.”
“Whether you’re dropping in for a pasta-making class, a quick dinner before a night out, or a cappuccino with a colleague, our friendly team will be here to serve you something delicious. We want this space to reflect the warm, generous Italian approach to hosting.”
In addition to eat-in and takeaway dining, Guildford residents will also be able to order hot and fresh pasta for home delivery via the Pasta Evangelists app, Deliveroo, or Uber Eats.
