Dragon reader Daniella West, a keen supporter of Guildford City Football Club and Guildford Flames ice-hockey team, has kindly shared a set of stunning images of the Castle Grounds for us all to enjoy.

Taking advantage of the recent fine weather she has captured the beauty of the grounds in springtime.

How lucky we all are that the Victorian Henry Peake, Guildford’s first borough architect and surveyor, recognised the importance of the grounds in the 19th century and saved them from threatened development.

Also how fortunate that GBC’s Parks Department maintains them so well and so skilfully.
