Surrey Police released information today (July 28) about an incident in Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, in which a man was verbally threatened. They are appealing for witnesses – in particular, three people who they believe intervened.

The victim was approached and threatened by a man described as having a muscular build with a tattoo on one shoulder. He was shirtless and wearing black joggers.

The incident happened at around 5.50pm on Tuesday, June 24.

The police are treating it as an aggravated public order offence and in an appeal for witnesses, said: “Were you in the area of Walnut Tree Close at around 5.50pm on the date above? Did you witness anything or do you have any dashcam, or doorbell footage that may have capture what happened?”

They particularly want to speak with the three people who they believe stepped in.

Police said: “If you have any information that may assist, please direct message us quoting reference PR/45250076199.”

I have asked the following question about a previous appeal (without receiving any reply):

Can the police explain why it has taken over a month to appeal for witnesses?

Surely information given as soon as possible after the incident is likely to be the best.
