Police investigating a sexual assault at a Guildford nightclub say an increased police presence will be visible in the town this coming weekend.
They are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the man in this CCTV image, who they believe may be able to help with their investigation.
They say a woman was sexually assaulted by an unknown man while out with friends in Popworld, Bridge Street, on Sunday, January 12, between 1.30 and 2am.
Inspector Blaine Rafferty, Borough commander for Guildford, said: “An increased police presence will be visible in the town centre over the weekend and if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our officers should you see them on patrol.”
A police statement said: “Do you recognise the man in the image, or have any information which could help further our enquiries? Contact us via direct message, quoting PR/45250004224. If you do not wish to speak to police, you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The statement added that anyone who has been sexually assaulted can report the offence online via a dedicated reporting tool: https://orlo.uk/SmLhO
