Retired Colonel with Local Roots Awarded an MBE

Col Patrick Crowley MBE

Col (retd) Patrick Crowley chief executive of the South East Reserve Forces’ & Cadets’ Association is another local award winner in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Col Crowley, is also Deputy Colonel, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, the local South East England infantry regiment. He was given the award for voluntary service to the Armed Forces and to military heritage.

Having laid his wreath, Col Crowley salutes Guildford’s War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday, 2020.

Col Crowley went to St Peter’s School where he was a member of the Army Cadet Force. He now regularly represents the regiment and the Army at local ceremonies and events.

He told The Guildford Dragon NEWS: “I am honoured and delighted to receive the award.  I have been involved in a great number of projects and volunteer activities over the years, mainly helping to raise funds for veterans.

“I never expected such recognition and feel very humbled.”
