Robbery & Assault in Sutherland Memorial Park, Burpham

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery in Sutherland Memorial Park in Burpham, Guildford.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 25 May (2019) at around 7.50pm as the victim was cycling through Sutherland Memorial Park on his way to Sainsbury’s, Clay Lane.

As he entered the park from Burpham Lane he saw a group of four males, one of whom said, “Oi you, stop! What’s in your bag?” The victim was then assaulted without warning by a second male and sustained a large cut to his face. The second male then went on to steal the victim’s mobile phone and bag.

The first suspect is described as a white male of slim build, around 5 foot 11 inches tall, about 20 years old, clean shaven with short brown hair and a slightly tanned complexion.

The second suspect is described as a white male of medium build, around 5 foot 11 inches tall, about 22 years old with short blonde hair and was wearing a white tank top with a thin gold chain.
