The staff at Headway Surrey, based in Stoughton, wish to thank two valiant runners for their fundraising support.
Mother and son team, Vicky Fulcher and James Fulcher ran the 2019 Clandon Park 10K and raised £290 for Headway. They undertook the same race three years ago for the charity.
Before the race, Vicky said: “James and I are really keen to raise money for this excellent charity. My boss (Keith Churchouse) is chairman and my husband is treasurer, so we are closely involved with the day-to-day running of Headway Surrey. The dedication of the staff and volunteers is truly inspiring.”
After the race, she said: “We did really enjoy it thank you. My sister and I have had a vague discussion about next year’s half marathon. We will see!”
Headway Surrey also has four runners entered in the 2019 London Marathon.
The monies will go towards supporting the centre’s work to support those over 18, who have sustained a traumatic brain injury.
Headway Surrey offers specialist cognitive rehabilitation in a safe and caring environment to stimulate pathways in the brain and re-establish executive skills.
Brain injury can be through trauma to the head. For example, a road traffic accident or sporting accident or acquired from having a stroke, meningitis or encephalitis.
