Residents in Sandfield Terrace are angry because an escort agency, Guildford Gold, is operating in their street.

In an anonymous note, circulated to neighbouring properties, the author complains: “Some strange things are happening in there [the apartment used by the agency], too many ‘gentlemen’ are going in and out every day, and also two different girls are going in at 10am and leave at 8pm every day.

“Please believe me that I cannot tolerate the noise any more, they scream, they shout, they make terrible noises. I cannot explain to my kid what is going on as he can hear it and starts asking what the sounds are and why so many men are going through that door every day. I cannot deal with that any more…

“Please help me out to close this place of shame from our street.”

The agency’s website states: “Welcome to Guildford Gold. We are a group of independent friends who work for ourselves, who enjoy entertaining gentlemen and having fun. Established through reputation alone.

“We are based in Guildford town centre in private luxury discreet apartments.

“We pride ourselves on our price busting enchanting VIP Services, that are not only Top Quality but also good value for money.”

The site also gives a price list for services and even a calendar of the escorts’ availability.

On Sunday morning (January 27) a neighbour observed a police constable on a bike who she believed visited the premises. She said: “I would not describe it as a raid. It was just one officer. I think or hope that he has warned them about their anti-social activity.”

Another neighbour said: “It is a real nuisance. Their clients, who often arrive by cab, seem to be a complete mix of men. Some are smart, like businessmen, and polite, others less so.

“We are aware of them because sometimes they get the address wrong and knock on the doors of other properties in the street. It is not nice to have this going on, especially when we have young children.”

When contacted, Guildford Gold confirmed that it was based in Sandfield Terrace but said that there was no one available to comment regarding the neighbours’ complaints.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “Surrey Police is dealing with a concern from a member of the public in relation to anti-social behaviour in the Sandfield Terrace area of Guildford.”

Local councillor Caroline Reeves (Lib Dem, Friary & St Nicolas) said: “When this kind of activity impinges on residents and neighbours, especially those with children, it becomes antisocial. I do hope that action can be taken that will resolve the issue for the residents of Sandfield Terrace.”
