Report by Neil Wibberley

It has been a busy few months for Scouting in Guildford.

The Beavers from the district, travelled to Winchester Science Centre for a sleepover. With exclusive after hours use of the facility they were able to explore the hands-on exhibits.

Favourites included a real space suit, an enormous ear that they could climb through, Lego modelling to design skyscrapers (which were put to the test when the earthquake started every three minutes!), and arcade games to explore how the immune system fights infections.

Cubs from 5th Guildford ‘Lions’ were privileged to have Aaron and Bobby from Team Brit to come and give a talk.

Team Brit is a racing team set up for disabled racing drivers and they race in major competitions like the British GP championship.

Aaron and Bobby (two of the racing drivers) talked about how they got into the team and about the races they had won, bringing along some of the trophies and clothing they wear.

Meanwhile, the Scouts were camping at Bentley Copse at their annual frost camp.

Evening activities included a movie, a camp fire and a silent disco.
