Speaking to Eagle Radio ahead of the event, Rachel Northover, the senior area event manager for Race for Life in this area said: “As a charity we’re always looking at giving our participants the best experience. We also want to make sure that our events cause people the least amount of inconvenience. Unfortunately, there were a few issues at Stoke Park [where the Guildford event had previously been held several times], just in terms of parking and the traffic that built up around the area.”

IMG_5248Race for Life started in 1994. Since then six million women have come together and raised more than £493 million for Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work. It is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event.

IMG_5191It is Cancer Research UK’s flagship event, with more than 230 events taking place across the country this year.
