Did You See Road Rage Incident?

Surrey police badge 200A road rage incident following a minor collision, on the A3 near Wisley, led to an assault on a driver.

The incident occurred around 5pm on Saturday, July 2. Two motorists had stopped in the layby just before the M25 junction on the A3 heading north.

Following the minor collision, the victim was trying to exchange details with the other party when he was assaulted and had his mobile phone thrown into the road. The offender, described as black, of muscular build, around 5ft 9” tall, aged 20-30 years with close cut hair and a bushy beard, then got back into his car and drove off.

He was dressed in dark clothing and driving a grey coloured BMW convertible. There was also a woman in the passenger seat of the BMW.

PC Chris Bowers said: “If you were driving northbound on the A3 on the afternoon of July 2nd and saw what happened please contact Surrey Police so we can further our investigation. This was a nasty incident which has no place on our roads and we are doing all we can to trace the offender and bring him to justice.”

Surrey Police is asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference number 45160056531 or to use the online reporting system found at https://report.police.uk/ and enter the reference number in the ‘Additional information’ section.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
