Serious Assault in Ripley – Two Men In Custody

Surrey Police BadgeTwo men are in custody following a serious assault in the Georgelands area of Ripley.

The incident occurred yesterday (Wednesday, April 17th) between 11am and 11.30am when three men were involved in an altercation.

As a result of the incident, a 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his head and arms. He was treated at the Royal Surrey Hospital.

The three men made off from the scene after a further disturbance in which damage was caused to a white transit van.

Two men, a 27-year-old man from Guildford and a 26-year-old from East Horsley are currently in custody in relation to the offence.

Detective Constable Andy Greaves is urging anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact Surrey Police as soon as possible. He said: “This was a violent attack in broad daylight in a neighbourhood where people were out and about enjoying some spring sunshine.

“I need people to come forward and tell me what they saw. This type of vicious and aggressive assault cannot be tolerated in our communities and residents should be able to enjoy their home environment without fear of such violence.”
