The Shahin Indian restaurant on Woodbridge Hill has once again supported the Mayor of Guildford’s chosen charities by hosting a curry night.
The Mayor of Guildford, Mike Parsons, (left) receives a cheque for £1,000 from Yasmeen Deedar, the owner of the Shahin restaurant on Woodbridge Hill, Guildford.
This year £,1000 was raised and the funds will be divided between Guildford Young Carers, Headway Surrey and The Mayor of Guildford’s Local Distress Fund.
It was attended by mayors from other Surrey towns, local councillors and council representatives, as well as regular diners at the award-winning restaurant.
The owner, Yasmeen Deedar said: “The evening was very entertaining and all the guest were extremely pleased.
“It was a glorious occasion and the evening’s raffle prizes provided plenty of welcome surprises.
“We are extremely delighted that so many guests attended and we enjoy making a contribution to our community. I hope to host another next year.”
