Families are being urged to get their skates on if they want free sessions at the Spectrum’s ice rink. From Monday, March 12 till Friday, March 15, there are 100 free spaces on offer for children, aged between eight and 15, to try ice-skating.
Parents and guardians are welcome to join their children on the ice and free skate hire will be available to all.
The offer comes from webuyanycar.com, partnered with British Ice Skating, with the aim to inspire the next generation of British skating talent along with a fun family activity.
Ten ice rinks across the UK will be offering free skating sessions a total of 1,000 free spaces with free skate hire.
Richard Evans, head of technical services at webuyanycar.com, said: “We’re delighted to have partnered with British Ice Skating. We understand that people lead busy lives and finding time to enjoy quality time with the family is not always easy. That’s why we strive to offer motorists a quick and hassle-free service to sell their car, so that customers can spend more time doing things they love.
“Over the years, we’ve bought many thousands of cars from customers in the Surrey area and we’re pleased to be giving something back to the local community.”
Michelle Draper, CEO of British Skating, said: “We’re excited to be working with webuyanycar.com, encouraging people to try the sport. “Britain has produced exceptional skaters over the years and we’re always keen for new skaters to have a go. You never know when the next Torvill and Dean are going to come along.”
She added: “Ice-skating is a great activity for all the family. We’re on a mission to engage more people in the sport and hope that these events will help to spark a new love for skating in those new to the sport.”

Please note, the event is open to children aged from eight to 15 and assisting adults. Adults may ice-skate only if assisting a child. Each child and adult must have their own ticket. All children must be accompanied by an adult to the ice rink and the responsible adult must stay for the duration of the session.
Children do not require an adult to join them on the ice, but if a child does require support from an adult, it is the parent/carers responsibility to arrange this. Tickets for the event are capped at 100 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. For full terms and conditions, visit https://www.webuyanycar.com/ice-skating/
