Playing mostly military, marching, film and musical pieces, it is a wind band. It plays at venues throughout Surrey and the South East and has even sent cadets to play abroad!

Captain Simon Donal, said: “Don’t be put off by the army bit, the band is a very friendly group who want to offer music tuition to young people in a structured learning environment.

“Once a band member, we can offer you free tuition and instrument loan. There are vacancies for flute, clarinet, cornet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, euphonium and tuba.

“Volunteers must be at least aged 12 (Year 8) and we are also interested in adults, our oldest member is 65. You do not have to know how to play to join – we will teach you or reconnect you with lost musical knowledge!

There are lots of opportunities to play in public.
