Surrey Postcard Club is holding its Annual Postcard Fair on Saturday, November 25 at St Peter’s RC Comprehensive School, Horseshoe Lane East, Merrow, Guildford, GU1 2TN.

There will be thousands of old postcards on a variety of themes to browse or purchase and the opportunity to chat with a variety of experts and enthusiasts. Postcards can be history in a nutshell. It isn’t only the postcards themselves but the huge range of subjects and eras that the postcards represent that fascinates people.

If you have any old cards that you wish to dispose of, bring them along for a valuation. You may be surprised how much they are worth. The most expensive postcard sold for more than £30,000!

The Surrey Postcard Club was started in 1979 by a few enthusiastic collectors and some of them are still members today. It has gone from strength to strength and celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2014.

Meetings take place every third Wednesday of the month (except August) at the Friends Meeting House, Ward Street, Guildford, GU1 4LH.

Evenings begin at 7pm with a browse through dealers’ stock and members’ spares. Coffee and tea are provided and these are followed by members’ displays or invited speakers on various postcard related topics. Proceedings normally wind up around 10pm. Visitors with a genuine interest in our hobby are always welcome.

The doors open on the Surrey Postcard Fair 2017 at 10am and close at 4pm. There is an admission fee of £1 with half going to the Children in Need appeal. Parking is free and refreshments are available.
