At the World Racketlon Championships former Surrey Junior County player Leon Griffiths (Sutton) and his brother Luke (Sutton) became World Racketlon Doubles Champions for the second time.
Also, Luke won the World Mixed Doubles title with Myriam Enmer. Many congratulations to them all.
Max Flint (Merrow) won gold, at the US Para Open in Fort Worth, in the mixed class 20 Doubles with Gloria Wong Sze, from Malaysia.
In the Men’s class 18 Doubles Max took a bronze medal with Ryan Henry. As well as this, Max won a silver medal in the Men’s Class 10 Singles event.
Bryan Aiglemont (New Malden) qualified for the Ping Pong World Cup via the UK Open Sandpaper Championships where he was runner-up.
The Wolverhampton Grand Prix saw Callem Pace win the Men’s Band 6 event. He was also a losing semi-finalist in the Men’s Band 5 event. Samson Bekele was the runner-up in the Men’s Band 5 event.
At the Women and Girls Sussex 2 star under 15s event, Caron Charles, Akshita Subramanium and Isabelle Turner-Samuels all made it to the semi-finals with Isabelle losing in the final. Akshita won the Open Consolation event.
In the Surrey under-15 closed, the semi-finals of the Boys event, Angad Saggu (Ashford) beat Aryan Sarma (New Malden) 3-0 and Noah Bryne-Smith (New Malden) beat Callem Pace 13-11 in the fifth set. Angad retained his title beating Noah 6-11, 11-3, 8-11, 11-9, 11-8.
In the Girls under-15 closed Eunice Lam (New Malden) came out on top beating Kelly Ng 3-11, 14-12, 6-11, 12-10, 11-6.
Eesah Jamaluddin (New Malden) won the Graham Spicer hard bat tournament beating Peter Lyall (New Malden) in the final.
