There are a number of outdoor events taking place in Guildford this Easter weekend to mark the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and to celebrate his resurrection. All are welcome to attend.

There will be a walk of witness in Guildford town centre on Good Friday, April 6. Meet at the rotunda at the bottom of North Street opposite the Friary centre at 10.30am. The walk will finish at Holy Trinity Church in the High Street where there will be a service and a blessing. The Mayor of Guildford, Terence Patrick, will be joining those taking part.

Members of St Francis’ Church in Beckingham Road, Westborough, will also be holding a walk of witness around some of the roads near the church. Meet inside the church at 10am.

On Saturday, April 7, cast members from Wintershall’s Life of Christ will be in Guildford High Street performing The Passion of Easter. There are two performaces (free of charge) at noon and 2.30pm. Action starts with the trial of Jesus at the corner of Quarry Street, ending with the crucifixion and resurrection outside Holy Trinity Church.

Easter Sunday sees a sunrise service outside Guildford Cathedral by the Ganges Cross at 7am.
