Travellers at Ash Manor School

Around 20 caravans were parked on the sports field at Ash Manor School this week after the school broke up for the summer.

Surrey county councillor Matt Furniss, cabinet member for Highways, Transport and Economic Growth, said yesterday (July 23) that the police were taking action.

He said: “Surrey Police have confirmed that they will be using their powers under Sec 60(C) CJPO and will be serving notice as soon as possible advising the unauthorised encampment to move off today.”

By today (July 24) the travellers had moved on.

Travellers were also spotted over the weekend at Stoke Park in Guildford.
