Talk on Stoughton History by David Rose and Music by the Rhythm of Life Community Choir Too!

Local historian, writer and musician David Rose will be giving an illustrated talk on the history of Stoughton and performing with the Rhythm of Life Community Choir at an evening of entertainment, hosted by QE Park Baptist Church & Community Centre, Railton Road, Stoughton, on Saturday evening, October 14.

The evening starts at 7pm with David showing vintage photos of Stoughton from his collection and giving snippets of its history – included will be the farm that was in Grange Road, Stoughton Barracks and the Women’s Royal Army Corps camp, churches and street views including Manor Road, Worplesdon Road, and more.

After the interval there will be music from the Park Barn-based Rhythm of Life Community Choir, who sing a mixture of popular songs from the 1960s onwards, plus songs from the shows and a bit of jazz too!

The choir is led by Karen Taylor and David sings and plays guitar accompaniment. The choir performs locally and has also graced the stage at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and Guildford Cathedral, along other venues.
