A collision between two motorbikes on the road between Guildford and Godalming left one teenager dead and one injured.
The fatal incident took place on the A3100 Old Portsmouth Road near its junction with Tilthams Corner Road, near Peasmarsh, on Tuesday evening (September 26). Police were called to the scene at 8.30pm and are now appealing for witnesses.
An 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and 19-year-old man was given medical treatment. The 19-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken into police custody.
The Old Portsmouth Road remained closed for several hours while police conducted their accident scene investigation.
A police spokesperson said: “Were you travelling along the A3100 between Tilthams Corner Road and New Pond Road between 8.15pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday evening? Did you see or hear anything that might assist our investigation?
“We are appealing to anyone who might have CCTV, dashcam or helmet cam footage that may help to get in touch. You can contact us quoting CAD 0831 of 26 SEPT via:
