Telephone Scam Warning

from Peter Walker

I would like to warn others of a scam that someone is operating, it seems, on elderly folk. A pal of mine was rung up today by someone claiming to be from Southern Electric and very persistently insisted on him divulging his credit card details and bank sort code.

You may like to put something up about this on your very useful website. Southern Electric tell me, naturally, that they would never ask any customer for such information.
