Tell The Council Your Views On Polling Stations

Do you have an opinion on your local polling station? Do you have any suggestions for new venues? Guildford Borough Council is asking local people to think about these and other questions, as part of a review of polling places and districts in the borough.

Ballot boxLocal authorities are required to carry out a review of polling districts and polling places every five years. The review aims to ensure that all electors have facilities for voting in elections, and that every polling place is accessible to electors who are disabled.

Anyone eligible to vote within the Guildford Borough Council area or Guildford Parliamentary Constituency can have a say.

The council asking for your views on any aspect of polling, such as existing sites, suggestions for new or alternative ones, where more may be needed for example, due to new housing developments, and comments on the sites that are currently used.

The councils wants to ensure that sites offer good access, facilities and transport links and we aim to reduce, as far as possible, the number of schools used as polling stations so that they do not need to close on polling day.

At the end of the consultation, GBC will consider all comments and use them to shape its future arrangements for polling districts and polling places.
