Guildford’s Academy Of Contemporary Music (ACM) will offer under 19s diploma studies free of charge from September.
Director of education Adam Bushell said: “This allows students to enrol and study for free at our world-class facilities. It also means that they can keep their options open for continuing education or employment in the future.
“It gives students the opportunity to obtain the internationally-recognised Level 3 Extended Diploma qualification. This provides up to 420 UCAS points (the equivalent of three A* grades at A-level).”
With programmes starting in September, students will be able to study the performance disciplines of drums, guitar, bass, vocals, and keyboards as well as the areas of music production and music business management.
The school currently has a roll call of 1,100.
The ACM has also said that expanding its curriculum in 2016 will a mean broader subject matter available to students. This is likely to require further recruitment in certain subject areas to support the new content.
